Meet one of the candidates, Addison, running for Student Government Secretary!

Addison Ford ‘29 (she/her)

Major : Government & Law

Describe your vision for the position you intend to run for.

My vision for the Secretary position is to help Student Government become more organized and transparent with the student body. As a current Senator for the Class of 2029 serving on the Academic Affairs and Dining Committees, I have gained a better understanding of how Student Government operates and how important communication is to its success. If elected, I want to make sure that meeting minutes and decisions are clearly documented and accessible to students. I also hope to improve communication within Student Government so that members are informed and able to work together effectively. Ultimately, I want students to feel more connected to Student Government and confident that their concerns are being heard and addressed.

Describe why you are the right person for this role.

I believe I am a strong candidate for Secretary because of my experience in leadership roles and my ability to stay organized while balancing multiple responsibilities. As a current Class of 2029 Senator serving on the Academic Affairs and Dining Committees, I have gained a better understanding of how Student Government operates and the importance of working collaboratively. Outside of Student Government, my position as a Student Involvement Center Assistant and Social Media Manager has given me experience managing responsibilities that require consistent communication and attention to detail. I take my commitments seriously and believe that my involvement across campus has prepared me to be a dependable and effective member of the executive board.
